Public education is provided by the Pasco County School District. Elementary school students attend either Sand Pine Elementary School or Quail Hollow Elementary; both serve students in pre-kindergarten through the fifth grade. Wesley Chapel High School provides sixth through 12th grade education. Total enrollment in all three schools is about 3,500.

Nearby Tampa and St. Leo offer Wesley Chapel residents three institutions of higher education within 20 miles. University of South Florida, Hillsborough Community College, University of Tampa and Saint Leo University vary in enrollment size. University of South Florida is the largest, with approximately 27,000 students, while University of Tampa is the smallest with about 3,000 students.

The many attractions in the greater Tampa region make it a popular tourist destination. Residents of suburban communities, like Wesley Chapel and Wesley Chapel South, appreciate being close, but not too close to the heart of central Florida. Greater Tampa is home to the Ybor City State Museum, Tampa Museum of Art, Tampa Bay History Center and the Museum of Science and Industry. The Florida Aquarium, Lowry Park Zoo, Busch Gardens and Adventure Island water park are also nearby.

Average temperatures in Wesley Chapel range from low-80s in June, July, August and September to the low-60s in January and February. Extreme lows can reach the high-40s. Even though the sun shines 65% of the time, the temperatures usually don’t get warmer than the low-90s. The rainiest season is June through September, averaging about 7.5 inches monthly.
